Our site in Helsingborg, Sweden is one of the city’s largest private employers, with around 670 employees. We are considered to be an important contributor to the Life Science sector in the Greater Copenhagen area.

We specialize in manufacturing over-the-counter medicines, which can be purchased without a prescription from a pharmacy or supermarket, or online.

You can safely say that we have a long and established history. We were founded in 1914, as AB Leo, and have occupied the same site in Stattena in Helsingborg since 1919. Since 2006 we are a part of Johnson & Johnson, one of the largest healthcare and pharmaceutical companies in the world.

The Home of Nicorette

For many years we have focused mainly on smoking cessation and we are currently a global production, research and development center for products under the Nicorette® brand. Nicorette® is the leading brand of tobacco and smoking cessation products. In addition to this, our research and development division is also the global center for digestive health and cough & cold therapies.

Nicorette® – the world’s first medicine for overcoming tobacco addiction – was invented and developed in Helsingborg in the 1960s. Today, all Nicorette® products except patches are manufactured in Helsingborg and exported to over 80 countries all over the world.
